These little copper beauties prevent the copper hood pieces in a Fusion from moving back and forth, essentially "locking" them in place.  Movement of the hood piece can cause loss of power, car stoppages, or in extreme cases, broken brushes.  Put all of that out of your mind, and just GO FAST!!!
